XL Flex Arm - 60mm
thingiverse
After watching Adam Savage build something in just one day, I noticed he was using some extra-large Loc-Line like tubing to hold light panels while recording videos. After taking a look around, I decided to design and print my own to use in a similar way. Voilà, the 60mm version is complete! The overall length of this remix is 60mm, just under 2-3/8 inches, with an internal diameter of 16mm, or just over half an inch. This design minimizes material used while creating a large flex tube. Using a 0.4mm nozzle, each section can be printed in four passes. On my Prusa i3 MK3 printer, this allowed me to print thirty at once using less than a quarter of a one kilogram roll, and it only took twenty-four hours. It can be used for liquids, as I tested, but there may be small leaks from some joints bent near their extremes. If you want it to carry liquid without leaking, there's more than enough room inside to thread in a small flexible tubing. The STEP file is included so you can make your own. I'll be designing mounting options for other things soon.
