XL Enclosure
prusaprinters
I keep telling myself that I'll post this when it's finished. It's never going to be finished, so here it is. I apologize for the lack of individual parts, but I just don't have the time. Everything in the renders/photos is in the model files. My starting point for this enclosure was Wire's excellent design. It was very helpful. The XL is kind of a nightmare to design an enclosure for. The most important part is filament routing; I modified the standard tube clip to accommodate two paths for each head, so the original side-mounted runs can remain in place in parallel with the top-loading ones, which I prefer. I posted my modified clip here some time ago. The spacing of the frame extrusions must be tweaked in situ. I didn't anticipate the toolhead collisions that occur due to the head overlapping the top of the frame a bit. It's extremely annoying. There is also a section in the rear that needs to be closed up. It's a significant source of lost heat.
