After completing a tensioner for HTD 3M, I faced the requirement of a tensioner for another system with XL belts. I adopted John Newman's Y-belt retainer/tensioner design, which utilizes his belt configuration. The solution might also work with T5 belts due to their minimal dimensional differences. The nut trap accommodates an M3 or force fits an M4 nut; however, using an M4 bolt for threading the hole eliminates the need for a nut. Sliding the belt from the channel indentations' matching side may demand effort and time initially.
