An xkcd chess set Note: This does not include the xkcd characters. You can download them from https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-xkcd-characters-131725 and decide which character you want to use for which piece. Instructions: Print the 9 base pieces and the 4 grid pieces. Glue them together (e.g. with CA glue) Do a test print of "white_squares_a8.stl" to verify the correct scaling for a good fit. Important: you will have to scale down the white squares slightly. Depending on your printer, something between 98.5% and 99.5% should work well. Once you have determined a good scaling for the white pieces, print out the four sets of white pieces and glue them into the gaps in the grid. Each piece will fit in exactly one space For each colour, print the appropriate number of feet for every type of piece The characters should fit into the feet with a snug fit. If it's too tight, widen the hole and/or narrow the pin a little with a craft knife, if it's too lose, a drop of glue should do the trick.
