This is a mounting place for a cheap thermometer/hygrometer from xiaomi. I've mounted the holders in various locations with double sided tape. You can find them here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001181553419.html I've designed it to make several mounting locations and move the device without permanently affixing it to the wall. there is a cutout at the back to allow airflow to the small hole at the back (I assume its where the sensor is).
