Designed originally for three-dimensional printing, I envisioned a time-consuming process, with an uncertain likelihood of withstanding direct sunlight for extended periods. Consequently, I reimagined the component as layered wood slices to be laser-cut. The intention behind this design was specifically tailored to cradle a Note 5 device paired with its built-in flexible cover; however, this design might accommodate various other steering wheels as long as they allow for adjustable height settings and clear access to the dashboard. Upon completion, I assembled the unit by utilizing frictional forces and gently pressing it above the steering wheel's positioning. Simultaneously, a smartphone can be attached to the assembly via an innovative aligning process: place the side of the device with exposed buttons directly adjacent to the upper section of the holder (inserting a slice of wood between these buttons). By completing this precise placement maneuver, you should secure the smartphone on both the top and bottom sides of the unit. As a result, it should settle securely without exhibiting any tendency to wobble in place.
