I want it to be water-resistant. I submerged it underwater for a bit and it seems to be waterproof. After putting everything together, I used a hot air gun on the cover to shape it slightly, which helped the closing fit perfectly. Then I applied about 1mm of silicone to seal it up tight. One thing I didn't expect was that the buttons are outside the screen - I guess I forgot about that! It can only be controlled through the display, but I'm okay with that. <b>Additional materials used:</b> I repurposed a touch-sensitive foil from an old tablet case. I stuck it in place with super glue and secured it with melted plastic plugs. I also needed some M3, M4 screws and nuts, as well as a few M3 metal rods. The white sealant is just regular bathroom-grade silicone.
