After spending some time riding, my thumb gets exhausted so I came up with a quick fix - a short twist grip that lets me hold the throttle like I would grasp the handlebar, completely eliminating excessive thumb fatigue. The twist grip is surprisingly compact (about 30mm), yet it's just the right size to operate comfortably using your thumb and index finger. When cruising at a steady speed, you can simply hold onto the grip with a regular grip and then loosen your thumb and index finger to release. The throttle grip can be secured in place by applying double tape or gluing it more permanently to the side of the original thumb throttle.
