XHover R5X/R5LX racing pod
thingiverse
**IMPORTANT** This design was a total failure, and I strongly advise against it. The screw holes were not deep enough, and it fell apart during the very first hard crash. This was my maiden attempt, and I plan to make another one if I decide to stick with the R5LX. This idea was inspired by DirtyDogFPV's design, but created from scratch in Fusion360. I actually prefer how theirs looks more, but didn't find their walls thick enough, and I wanted a bit more room inside. There are three designs to choose from: * Basic - No top fin or camera mount, but lowest profile. * Turtlemodefin - Fin on top to make it easier to flip over in turtle mode. * Mobiusmount - For strapping a camera on top. In my case, a mobius mini. Check out my other designs for a 0 degree mobius case I remixed. This is my first real attempt at a pod design, at least one that I actually ended up printing. Any suggestions are welcome. One thing already on my to-do list is to make the side windows slightly larger, which will reduce material/weight and provide easier access to the USB port and buttons. v1.2 has a larger side window. I also moved the mobius mount up a bit. v1.1 is what's in the photos with the fin. The HD camera mount (main photo) is v1.2. Camera angle is locked at 45 degrees since this is all I personally use. If someone would like me to rework it for other angles, I can. I'm running a Runcam Swift 2 and it fits well with the included single-hole case.
