It thrives in warm, mild climates on both calcareous and slightly acidic soil. Notably, the Strawberry Guava is salt-tolerant and grows well on sea coasts, characterized by deep green leaves with red new sprouts. The shiny red fruit can be consumed fresh or used for jellies and jams. Adult trees reach up to 9 meters in height but are moderately frost-tolerant, while medium-aged trees measure around 6.5 meters and young specimens grow up to 2 meters.
