The Shagbark Hickory tree, a deciduous broadleaf, is native to the northeastern part of North America, from Quebec to Texas and Georgia. It thrives in fertile forests and valleys with mild, temperate climates. Its unique name comes from its long (up to 30 cm.) bark 'chips' which are believed to be a natural defense against nut-eating predators like squirrels. The word 'Hickory' is of Native American origin, derived from the term 'pawcohiccora', referring to an oily food made from ground seeds and boiling water. Model 1 reaches 25 meters in height, while Model 2 stands at 15 meters and Model 3 measures 4 meters.
