The River Redgum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) is a broadleaf evergreen tree that grows up to 20 meters tall. Native to Southeast Australia, it thrives in riverine sites, along riverbanks, and on floodplains with deep, moist soils, preferably clay but also sand. As a resilient species, the River Redgum can withstand occasional flooding except when very young. Its growth patterns vary depending on water availability: it grows tall and straight in areas with abundant water, while its trunk becomes gnarled and broader in arid regions.
