The Ghost Gum (Corymbia aparrerinja), also known as Eucalyptus papuana, is a broadleaf evergreen with a columnar height ranging from 2m to 18m. Native to Central Australia, it thrives in arid conditions on rocky slopes, red sand flats, and dry creek beds. This adaptable tree grows best in well-drained sandy soils and can withstand warm, dry or semi-arid climates. One of its most striking features is its ghostly white bark, which gives it its name. It's primarily found in the south part of the Northern Territory, at the edge of Western Australia and into central Queensland. After fires, a subterranean lignotuber helps this tree recover. Additionally, Native Australians utilized parts of the Ghost Gum to treat colds.
