The Coast Banksia (Banksia integrifolia ssp. Integrifolia) is a broadleaf evergreen shrub/tree that can grow up to 20 meters tall. Native to the southeastern coast of Australia, it thrives in coastal cliffs, headlands, and river estuaries on sandstone soils and stabilized sand. This versatile plant can vary in shape from a shrubby form to a medium-high tree. It is found along the entire east coast of Southern Australia, often growing alone or with Melaleuca quinquenervia. Unlike other Banksias, Coast Banksia does not need bushfires for seed release but benefits from controlled fires for healthy surface soil conditions.
