Sea mammal bone fishhook shank. CAT#XFP-067-05. XFP-067 comprises 27 depressions and pits in Finneys Cove, a section of Sanak Island, Alaska. The site's primary era spans from approximately 500 to 200 BCE, with some occupation dating back to around 1300 BCE. These artifacts were scanned using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. They were processed in Geomagic and Polyworks. Four to eight photos were utilized for texture in ZBrush. The Sanak Island artifacts are presented as a result of research conducted under grants NSF 0326584, NSF 0508101, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as the Principal Investigator. Original digitizing work was performed at the IVL at Idahoa State University. Subsequent processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage. Fieldwork and analysis were conducted with the permission and collaboration of the Pauloff Harbor Tribe and the Sanak Corporation.
