Bird Bone Cloak Pin or awl, Sanak Island, Alaska. XFP-050-4 XFP-050 is a late prehistoric and early Historic site in Dodds Bay on Sanak Island, Alaska dating 1400-1600 CE. Twenty-one house depressions are found at this village in addition to other sites. Scanned artifacts were done with either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Processed in Geomagic and Polyworks software packages. Four to eight photos were used for texture in ZBrush software. The Sanak Island artifacts are presented as the result of research conducted under grants NSF 0326584, NSF 0508101, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as Principal Investigator on this project. Original digitizing work was done at the IVL at Id. St. Univ. Subsequent processing completed at Global Digital Heritage. Fieldwork and analysis were conducted with permission from the Pauloff Harbor Tribe and in collaboration with the Sanak Corporation.
