XF5U Flying Flapjack for microarmor
thingiverse
And now for something completely different... The XF5U Flying Flapjack: A Plane of Unconventional Design This peculiar aircraft boasts incredible theoretical potential, but its unique concept was ultimately rejected by the Navy in favor of jets. One of the most distinctive features of this experimental plane is its propellers, which are positioned far outboard to counteract wingtip vortices and improve stability. Modeled with meticulous attention to detail using Blender 2.79b, the XF5U's design was carefully crafted from online drawings. To ensure accuracy, the model was created in full dimension before being scaled down to a 1/100 scale for STL export. For optimal results, users should scale up the model by 35% within their slicer software to achieve proper micro-armor proportions. The propellers of this aircraft are truly massive, measuring an impressive 17mm in diameter when rendered at 1/285 scale. Perfectly suited for fabrication using thin clear plastic sheets.
