XDm Minimal Trigger Guard Holster
thingiverse
So i like the idea behind the Raven VG2, but they don't make one for the XDm. Here is my version. There are 4 files total depending on which version you want. It works with the XDm, and i think it should work with the XD, but i don't have one to confirm. No idea at all if it will work with the XDs. MinimalHolster is for lanyard use or to be used with the printed belt clip that i also included. MinimalHolsterUpperStrut is to be used with a soft loop. I'm using it with a leftover Galco softloop that i had laying around, though many softloops should work. You can also attach a lanyard if desired. Minimal Holster Upper Strut High is the same but with a higher mounting position to enable a lower carry. I haven't printed and tried this one yet, but I am working on it. I printed all of these with support and out of ColorFabb XT (PETg). The holster part must flex for this to work properly. I have no idea how it will work with PLA or ABS. Make sure you clean up any rough spots as they will irritate your skin or cut your fingers if you don't. Make sure you safety check your equipment before attempting to use this for the first time to ensure there are no issues. You will also need 8-32 nuts and screws. They need to be just under one inch for the holster/beltclip combo. They need to be around or slightly under one-half inch for the softloop versions. Edit: April 21, 2015 I added MinimalHolsterUpperStrutHighOffset. This should enable a better grip by offsetting the strut toward the slide by 19mm. This should put my XD in a slightly more comfortable position as well, which is why I made this change. I also removed 0.25mm of material from the retention areas to enable a slightly easier draw. I am printing this one now, so hopefully it works nicely. Edit: April 22, 2015 I printed the offset high strut model and I really like it. I just made an offset belt clip that I am about to print as well. It is posted. Edit 2 for April 22, 2015: Retention is too good for use with the offset belt clip. I will need to redesign it so that it grabs the belt better on the draw. As it stands right now, the whole rig comes up on the draw, which is less than optimal. The offset belt loop model is working well so far though. Instructions: I printed these as oriented in the files. 0.25mm layer height and 30% infill. I used support as well.
