Biface XCB-003-574.\nXCB-003 or IZM-003 is a site McCartney tested in 1971. It's the type-site for the Izembek Phase. A small village with a whalebone house and artifacts like those found in Bristol Bay exists there. Dating to around 1200-1350 CE, it does.\nThe Alaska Peninsula artifacts are results of research done under NSF grants 9630072, 9814086, 9996372, 9996415, 1139266, and 1321411. Maschner, the Principal Investigator, led this research. These artifacts were scanned with a Faro Edge Arm or Minolta Vivid 9i. Processed in Geomagic or Polyworks, 2-8 photos were used for texture in Geomagic Wrap. Original digitizing work was done at IVL, Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing and publication were completed at Global Digital Heritage.\nMcCartney tested prehistoric cultural integration along the Alaska Peninsula in 1974. APUA published this research in 16(1):59-84. Maschner also researched Arctic anthropology, publishing his findings in doi: 10.1353/arc.2011.0007.
