Izembek Point XCB-003-516 is a site thoroughly tested by A.P. McCartney in 1971. It stands as the type-site for the Izembek Phase, boasting a small village with an extraordinary whalebone house and numerous artifacts remarkably similar to those found in the Bristol Bay region. The site dates back approximately 1200-1350 CE. Research conducted under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411 has led to a comprehensive presentation of Alaska Peninsula artifacts. H. Maschner serves as the Principal Investigator behind this research. A total of 2-8 photos were used for texture in Geomagic Wrap, while digitizing work was initially done at the IVL at Id St Univ, and subsequent processing and publication completed at Global Digital Heritage. A.P. McCartney's 1974 publication, Prehistoric Cultural Integration along the Alaska Peninsula, highlights his findings in APUA 16(1):59-84. H. Maschner's Arctic Anthro article, available through doi: 10.1353/arc.2011.0007, delves into the topic further, appearing in January 2004 vol. 41 no. 2 98-111.
