I've crafted a 3D printed permanent marker mount for my Xcarve machine, a standard-sized Sharpie holder. This design utilizes a 3/4" PVC pipe with an end cap, which requires drilling a hole through the center to serve as an exit for the marker tip and utilizing an elastic band to apply downward pressure to keep the marker in place. I employed a .2 layer height, 30% infill rate, and generated full supports during the printing process. Following removal of the supports from within the mount's central opening, it's essential to locate a dowel and fine-tune that hole using sandpaper to achieve a snug friction fit. My creation has already garnered interest; I've sold professional estate sale signs, and even secured orders from the Navy recruiting office for several units. This venture not only provides an additional income stream but also serves as a fun way to decorate my children's room with their favorite superhero characters.
