This set of parts offers a mounting system specifically designed for the 15W TTL enabled, focusable laser available from AliExpress (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/High-Power-Diode-Laser-15W-15000mW-Focusable-Blue-Laser-Module-450-445nm-with-TTL-Driver-for/32757380573.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.03ASzf). It features a laser holder that accepts the 40mm wide 15w laser and allows for its removal, enabling a vacuum hose to be connected to a dust boot. The mount base can accommodate other tooling as well. The overall setup also includes a mount plate for attaching the laser controller behind the Z-axis motor and a plate for mounting the 12V 6A power supply to the X-Carve sideboard. The laser holder is designed to utilize three 40mm 12VDC fans that are connected to the 12V supply of the laser controller. This cooling system enables much higher power levels and duty cycles on the laser. The power supply mount requires two M3 x 10mm cap head screws for mounting the supply to the plate, as well as two M5 x 16mm screws for attaching the plate to the sideboard. The controller mount uses the existing Z-stepper screws (which should have 3mm of available thread) to attach it to the carriage and two M3 screws to secure it to the controller. An M3 nut is placed between the plate and controller to act as a standoff, since the controller can get quite hot. Additionally, a strip of aluminum foil tape has been applied to the top of the plate under the controller to prevent overheating issues. Printing in ABS instead of PLA offers better heat resistance and helps prevent these problems altogether.
