XC-12.2A X CARRIAGE (PROTOTYPE MARK-UP)
thingiverse
This is our X-Carriage prototype mark up, a crucial part of a project currently underway in the development stage. The Carriage boasts a single uni-body design with strategically placed inner reinforcement arches, making it possible to eliminate the need for external supports during printing. Core Features: Dual Hot end Ports are featured, each paired with 24 mm Hot end Barrels and 8 x 16 mm neck mounting rings. This setup is perfectly sized for E3D EV6 Hot ends, working in tandem with remote set direct drive extruders that include bowden add on capabilities. Innovative design elements include internal / isolated dynamic hot end cooling ports that are serviced by internally mounted 30 mm fans. The low profile / low drag body comes equipped with integrated low friction nylon bearings, making it possible to utilize standard reprap bearings if needed for replacement purposes. Effective wire management is facilitated through the presence of wire management channels throughout the design. Several other impressive features are currently in development stages and will be added as soon as they're completed. This includes optional external fan mounts (single and dual), which will be available soon. We value any feedback regarding this prototype, whether it's a compliment, criticism or a mixture of both. We only ask that you provide specific reasons so your suggestions can be properly considered and addressed. We would like to extend our appreciation to the RepRap Community for their ongoing support. SearlsTech, Inc Print Settings: Rafts: No Support is required during printing Resolution: A Layer Height of 0.2 mm ensures precise detail Infill Density: A density of 0.25 infill, using hexagonal patterns Notes: Printing in PLA and PETG presents no issues, however we recommend the use of PETG or PET+ @ 230C for optimal results. Print Speed can be increased to 110 mm/s without compromising quality. When printing ABS, it is advisable to enclose your printer or cover the opening with a thick bath towel to prevent warping caused by ambient air. To reduce warping, set bed temperatures to 105C during the first few layers and then reduce them to 95C afterwards. For optimal results, we recommend using Robo or Solutech ABS filament.
