Xbox One Video Game Controller Adapter (Flush Mounting)

Video games empower individuals with disabilities to explore scenarios that may be daunting or restrictive in the real world, foster social connections that support mental and emotional well-being, and participate in one of the world's most popular pastimes. While video game controllers provide highly precise movement controls, grasping a traditional controller and accurately pressing trigger buttons can be tricky. A common tactic to avoid holding a controller while playing video games is to secure it to a flat surface directly in front of the gamer using adhesive tape. The goal of this project is to enable the top surface (where all the buttons are located) of an Xbox One controller to lie flush against this surface and translate trigger button inputs to the same surface. If an Xbox One Elite controller is used, two additional buttons can be translated as well. To print this adapter, the minimum required print bed size must be 7.5 inches by 7.5 inches. For countersinking the controller into a flat surface, cut a rectangle measuring 6.5 inches by 6.5 inches to accommodate the adapter. Assembly instructions can be found in the "Assembly Manual" .pdf file. This prototype was printed using 1.75 mm PLA filament at a print temperature of 210 degrees Fahrenheit, a bed temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit, a layer height of 0.2 millimeters, and an infill percentage of 50%.
