I picked up two pre-owned Xbox controllers that lacked battery covers and discovered that none of the designs available here fit properly. I consequently created my own designs to meet the requirements. These custom designs cover both standard and elite controllers, with tabs positioned differently for each. In addition to designing these covers, I also wanted to add a personal touch by incorporating text and graphics into them. This led me to start creating customized covers for people who are interested in this unique feature. Below, you'll find some basic examples of what can be achieved with these custom designs. However, the possibilities don't stop there; users can create highly detailed and visually appealing designs. During my experimentation process, I discovered that the most effective way to add images or text to the cover is by drawing them directly on the surface where desired and then removing 0.02 inches of material. To facilitate this customization process for others, I've included STL files that allow users to print blank covers and STEP files for further personalization. When printing these covers, it's best to orient them on their side to minimize supports and ensure a smooth finish. The result will be a cover approximately 4 layers thick, which may or may not include infill depending on the printer settings used.
