I managed to save two controllers from my dog's destructive power by crafting an almost identical replica of their backs myself. To achieve this, I relied on printing techniques with precision, utilizing a base layer of .25mm thickness and layer heights of .15mm. To get started, I selected PLA as the material of choice for its suitability; ABS is another viable option, though minor adjustments to account for shrinkage may be necessary to guarantee accuracy. When it comes to print settings, I chose to eschew rafts in favor of a direct approach. My configuration included using supports strategically and adopting a layer resolution of .15mm with a base thickness of .25mm. I settled on an infill density of 25% hexagonal to achieve a sturdy yet lightweight structure. Initially, I relied on a fine-tip pencil to create an outline sketch of the controller back from memory, capturing its nuances in meticulous detail. Utilizing vernier calipers, I carefully measured critical dimensions and employed a protractor along with a compass to ensure accurate calculation of angles and curves for my replica design.
