XBox Inspired Arcade Stick
thingiverse
I couldn't find a fight stick that suited my taste, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and create one from scratch. It's far from flawless, and I'm confident that numerous changes and improvements will be made in the future. To power this custom controller, I opted for an Arduino Pro Micro as the brain of the operation. For those interested in emulating an Xbox controller with an Arduino, I've compiled a step-by-step guide on how to flash a Pro Micro with the Xinput Libraries: https://www.partsnotincluded.com/how-to-emulate-an-xbox-controller-with-arduino-xinput/ I also recommend checking out dmadison's GitHub repository for further assistance: https://github.com/dmadison/ArduinoXInput All credit goes to dmadison, whose innovative work sparked this project. The button holes are precision-cut at 24mm. I designed and fabricated my own custom buttons using high-quality Alps switches, which I'll be sharing separately soon. For the Xbox button, I chose a 12mm switch with an integrated LED for added flair, while the remaining buttons feature compact 6mm switches. As for the joystick, I repurposed an old thumbstick from an Xbox controller, but a standard store-bought joystick would also fit seamlessly. I've also included a blank faceplate for those who want to create their own custom button layout. Once this project is complete, I'll be sharing additional photos and more detailed instructions for anyone interested in replicating this build.
