Xbox Controller Stand (v3)

Xbox Controller Stand (v3)

This is version 3, a standalone or part of the 4 Controllers Stand. The idea is to create four of these stands so that four controllers can be kept on the table. Those stands should stack together easily due to their locking mechanism at the back. Two plates (one on top and one on bottom) in the middle between the four stands will keep them secure, holding them in place. This model should print well laying flat on its side, ensuring internal stability. Version 2 required a well-set-up printer with slow printing speeds to print the middle part that acted as supports during printing. However, this was not the case in my previous print. This version has undergone significant changes in the design of the middle section. The front: Removing the supporting edge proved unnecessary after printing version 2. Increasing the size of the whole in the front reduces material usage significantly. Rounding out the "rods" that hold the controller slightly reduced their need for support. The middle: Reducing its volume by half makes it stronger, while making it a bit taller in this section enhances its stability. A simpler design was possible but I opted to keep the angles for aesthetic appeal. Since the Sketchup's Warehouse controller model used wasn't exact, the stand length needed adjustment. It's now 1cm shorter than version 2 and 1cm longer than version 1. The back: A pocket is designed in the back of the stand where a handle could potentially fit at the project's end.
