Xbox Controller mod for gamers missing a hand

The Idea:

For gamers missing a hand, the analog stick and front facing buttons can usually be manipulated using the stump. However controlling the triggers presents a challenge as there is no easy way of reaching them. This Xbox controller mod solves this issue by allowing the gamer to access all triggers using a single hand.

The structure:

There's a central body that attaches to the controller. The extensions for the triggers go on the arm of the central part and they are held togheter by a small printable screw.

I made two versions of the mod, one for people that need the addon to play only with the right hand and the other for people that need it for the left hand. The names of the files are clear: “Body_left_hand” is for people who play with the left hand and “Body_right_hand” for gamers that use the right hand.

The extenders are identical, the only thing that changes is the text on them, choose based on what triggers you want to extend.

I have uploaded the .f3d files so they can be easily customized.

<oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIF4YglNkpU"></oembed>

(I'd uploaded the GIF but it doesn't work, so if you want to have a full view of the controller you can still watch the video)

Printing:

For the material I recommend using good quality PETG, or just normal PLA but you will have to keep more attention to not break it. For the settings I suggest 0.3mm layer height with 20% infill.

The “body ” needs supports, they're annoying but it's the only way to print it. Don't worry with a nice pair of pliers in about ten minutes you should remove all the supports.

The other parts don't require any support.

Assembly:

1 . Take the “Body” and attach it to the controller.

2. Take the extenders and put them in the correct order, one on the right side of the wall (the little one at the end of the central part's arm) and the other one on the left side.

3. To fix the two extenders togheter you have to slide the 3d printed screw in the holes and then gluing it with the “screw top”.

4. Make sure that the two extenders move correctly.

Some Information:

I'm 15, I'm italian and I have been the owner of a 3d printer for a year now. As soon as I saw the competition I immediately came up with this idea and I instantly got to work. This is my first big project, I did it with Fusion 360 and due to my total inexperience it took me forever.
I designed this mod based on the given model (a controller of the xbox one), at home unfortunately I only have the newest version, the one of the Xbox Series X/S that doesn't fit with my 3d model, so I'm not able to show it on a real controller, I tried to do my best with 3d renderings in order to give you an idea.

Thanks for reading this far, I hope you enjoyed my project.

See you around the community!
