Xbox 360 Controller Joystick Replacement Cap
thingiverse
I acquired a macro controller several months ago, only to discover that one of our rambunctious yorkies had developed a taste for the thumb stick caps, ultimately deciding to chew them off completely. To rectify this issue, I'm including a replacement cap for you here. After conducting further research, I found that the inner ABS molded piece differs across various controllers due to differences in manufacturing processes employed by different manufacturers. Consequently, it's uncertain whether the bottom opening will fit your specific ABS stick or not. In such cases, utilize a Boolean operation or resize the inner polygons using any mesh application to enlarge them so that they match your controller's dimensions precisely. I had mine printed with Flex EcoPLA from FormFutura and found it to be more cushioned compared to the stock 360 stick cap. If you're looking for even greater flexibility, consider printing in NinjaFlex for a more yielding experience. For this print, I utilized a dual extruder setup and chose ABS as my support material. Upon printing, removing it from the platform as soon as possible allows the ABS support fill to pop right out without needing any cleaning efforts, thanks to its compatibility with Flex TPS materials. The inner cutout has been deliberately angled slightly inward, enabling the cap to snap into place securely. I reinforced it further by applying a small dab of hot glue in the center, ensuring it remains in place during game sessions and withstands various levels of play.
