XB8E 2022 Receiverbox (Update july 23th, '24)

UPDATE!!! (July 2024)I am currently working on a new recceiverbox which will fit the 2024-car.As the layout in the car changed (shorter chassis and some modified parts), this receiver-box does not fit anymore.************************I race an 1/8th TeamXray XB8E-buggy.The 2022 model has a new layout and no longer a specific protecting box for the receiver.I designed a new box which can be mounted next to the ESC and steering-servo. It is a tight fit but works just fine. No interference with the servo horn whatsoever. It can/should be mounted on the esc-plate with some decent velcro-tape or with a bolt. When using the bolt, you should drill a 3.2mm hole through the esc-plate (easy, it's plastic).Check the pictures, plan to see where the hole should be drilled exactly.Pictures are from one of the last prototypes (I made 11 :D ). I tweaked it a tiny bit lately to give a bit more fiddling room for the ESC.Does fit my Futaba R334SBS-receiver but also a Sanwa RX482 (with antenna integrated)I provided plugs to close the second wiring-hole AND for the antenna-hole.I printed it in PLA and in PETG. I prefer PETG as it is less affected by heat .. but it will require a well-tuned slicer and 3d-printer"Walls" are 2mm thick. All feedback appreciated *******************************************************Update may, 5th '22: new (better) version (Boxy_vXIV)Same outer dimensions, more room on the inside.Better fitting lid.Extra bolt-hole.!Does need a decent-tuned printer.+ Lid_Boxy_vXV which is 2mm higher then vXIV********************************************************Update may, 20th,'22:Slimmer (1mm) and better fitting version (rounder edges).Removed one of the two wiring-holes which seemd excessive to me.ESCBox_vXXand ESCBoxLid_vXX Added recent pictures. Yet still the same fitting lid.Would ADVISE on printing with PETG ,in stead of PLA, as the box will be situated next to the ESC which might (will) get hot. Also: I used decent velcro-tape myself to install my own ESC-box and did not use the bolt-hole at the bottom.********************************************************Update sept, 23th,'22:Removed older files, just kept latest. Also installed it without velcro now. The velcro functioned fine but I prefer the no-nonsens install with a bolt. Also, now printed this on my MK3S with Prusa PC Blend (carbon fiber)… a dream: lighter and stronger AND better print quality then with PETG.I'll keep the older pictures untill I can upload some newer ones… and just for good memories designing this box :) Print SettingsPrinter Brand:PrusaPrinter: I3 MK3SRafts:Doesn't MatterSupports: YesNotes:Unfortunatly, you need supports ... but that should not be a big issue.Designed with Fusion360 Category: R/C Vehicles
