Xacto Thumb Thimble

Xacto Thumb Thimble

When cleaning up parts post-printing with an X-acto knife, I typically hold the handle firmly in my four fingers while using my thumb to push the part against the blade. This technique allows for finer control when cleaning delicate areas such as brims and usually enables me to maneuver it precisely without the blade accidentally hitting my thumb. However, occasionally the blade becomes too dull to cut cleanly through and jerks or the part slips out of place, prompting me to design a thumb thimble for added protection. This protective device is tailored specifically to fit my thumb's unique shape, so you may need to scale it up to accommodate your own thumb size. The inner oval measures 19.5mm by 26mm in diameter across two directions. To facilitate smooth movement around the knuckle, I've included cutouts at the bottom of the design.
