Xacto Storage Box
thingiverse
I am mastering Fusion360 through hands-on experience. The most effective way to learn is by doing, so when I recently decided I needed a container to store my Xacto knife set with ample space for other post-printing items...I sat down at Fusion360 and designed one. It's a bottom-up design and was also meant to be an interesting large print. I printed this using a .8mm nozzle and it took several days and a couple of spools of PETG...so it's not for the faint of heart, go big or go home. The intention was to use magnets to secure the lid in place...they aren't necessary. The lid has significant weight. Scaling down is certainly possible but it won't fit the Xacto stuff then...if you want to scale down, I have an empty version of this box available: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4530291 I did make a modification to the lid after the print you see here. It looked a bit plain, so I added a central detail. The lid requires supports, while the box does not. This is the kit I was looking to store: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TTRZ9K3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
