Xacto collet CNC steps/mm calibration aid

I was searching for a highly precise pointer to use while calibrating steps/mm on my X-Carve CNC machine. This handy adapter allowed me to fit the collet of an Xacto knife into the standard 1/4" collet of the Dewalt router, transforming it into a very accurate pointer that could be used in conjunction with a ruler featuring 0.5mm gradations on the bed for adjusting steps/mm settings. I discovered this approach works better than utilizing a V-bit, as it boasts a sharper point and a flat surface, making it easier to align with precision. Please note that this adapter is not designed for holding the knife in place while cutting on the CNC - attempting to do so would be ineffective, given its lack of spring-loaded mechanism and off-center blade tip.
