X96 mini case with active cooling
thingiverse
I've upgraded my X96 mini media player with active cooling. The previous overheating issues with the Media player were frustrating, so I took matters into my own hands. First, I attached heat sinks to all the critical chips to help dissipate heat more efficiently. Then, I installed a new cast housing to give the unit some added protection and style. To really take things to the next level, I soldered a 12-volt, 40mm fan directly onto the USB port's 5-volt rail. This allows me to tap into the existing power supply without needing an external adapter or additional wiring. With the new cooling system in place, my X96 mini is now running smoothly and quietly.
