X5S FANG DUCT + E3D V6 HOLDER w/ BED LEVEL SENSOR
thingiverse
-----10-2-18----- I finally found some time to design a "fang" style duct that actually works for me on my E3D clone. The problem with the other "X5S fang" designs found on Thingiverse is that they don't clip snugly, and the height isn't correct. This updated "fang" design allows for slight Z-height adjustment relative to the nozzle, making it more precise. The duct nozzle design directs air flow more efficiently. You can print this duct with 0% infill, which makes it extremely light. (Rotate model by 10 degrees in X-axis, ~7mm brim for bed-adhesion) I found that the included V6 fan clip works exceptionally well. You can use the original 30mm fan as part of the V6 hot-end kit for cooling, or you can use the included 40mm-30mm fan adapter. In my opinion, a bed level sensor is a must-have for X5S. I used this affordable option: LJ18A3-8-Z/BX 8mm Proximity Inductive Sensor Switch NPN 3-wire Normally Open Wiring: 12v - 12v GND - 12v Return Signal - Z-end stop with a 10k resistor between GND and Signal of sensor. (Sensor mount didn't account for thread, some VHB was used) Some M3 fasteners were used. See the picture for details. If you're using the same setup as mine (including a titan extruder), try out the attached Marlin 1.1.9 configuration file and simplify3D profile. Note that LCD/SD card is disabled to save space, and I use Octoprint exclusively to manage my printer.
