X5S Bed Lowering Blocks - simpler, stronger, easier to print.
thingiverse
I used other lowering blocks for a few months, but they never printed well, and I was unhappy with the vanity lettering that came out. A couple of them also cracked over time. I decided their design was too clever and not intelligent enough. This version is just a spacer, and you will need longer screws to assemble it properly. The blocks I uploaded are 24mm tall, so if you're not using an endstop actuator version, you can scale the height in your slicer to whatever you prefer. You'll need M4 screws that are about 15mm longer than the block is tall. For 24mm blocks, you'll need screws around 40mm long. The optical endstop actuator version is compatible with my remix of Marco67's optical endstop holder, which can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3047306. This holder is still compatible with Marco67's original actuator, which mounts on top of the bar and may require a slightly longer screw. I've also included some lowering blocks with arms to hold magnets for use with my experimental hall effect Z endstop sensor, which can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3175047. If you're in the USA and having trouble finding long M4 screws locally, I highly recommend checking out Monster Bolts on ebay. They always ship quickly, and it usually takes no more than 3-4 days for the hardware to arrive, even if they're shipping from Florida and I'm in Utah. I got my screws from this listing: https://goo.gl/WWVYCw
