X3S Z axis adjustment
thingiverse
I'm still puzzled by why 3D printer designers create such problematic Z-axis adjustments. Maybe it's simply to give users like me a challenge. I've grown quite fond of the Tronxy X3S pre-assembled printer, but its subpar Z-axis adjustment (and a less-than-ideal print bed) has been frustrating. I managed to resolve the print bed issue by installing the MatterHackers magnetic build plate. Here's my solution for the Z-axis adjustment: use a 5mm x 70mm screw, a standard nut, and an nylock nut. The nylock nut gets inserted into the lower bracket and keeps the adjustment locked in place. Meanwhile, the standard nut is placed inside the adjusting nut, which measures 12mm and can be turned using a wrench or hex driver. While it's not ideal, this fix has greatly improved the Z-axis adjustment compared to its stock configuration.
