These miniaturized card enclosures are tailored to accommodate X-Wing cards. Two size variations exist - the larger Pilot box and a compact one designed for Damage/Upgrade cards. Alongside these, downloadable faction logos allow users to add a personal touch by gluing them onto the lid's circular segment on pilot boxes. A multitude of ships from the same style have been crafted into separate enclosures at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:707019 - Please share pictures showcasing your created items. Update: Upon popular request, I've introduced an enhanced version that aligns with 3x4inch toploader card sleeves and has 'TOPLOADER' marked in the STL files for clear identification. An additional component - a booklet featuring extended X-Wing missions based on the format found within the Core Set and expansions - is available at: http://www.other-worlds.co.uk/new-x-wing-missions/ These mission descriptions cater to all three factions, incorporating complex scenarios that unfold over multiple sides. Enjoy! **Instructions for Assembly** 1. **Printing**: Each model should print flawlessly on any standard printer due to its compact size. 2. For a larger box: simply print both the base and the lid together. 3. Smaller boxes are presented in combined file for printing, consisting of a single unit combining both box and lid. My preferred printing settings: - **Material**: 1.75mm PLA. - **Layer Height**: .15 layers provide crisp edges without wasting excessive filament. - **Supports & Brims**: Not required due to its modest size. **Adhering the Faction Logos** The printed logos are standalone and require individual glue application - although optional, adding them gives an authentic finishing touch! **The Hinge Assembly Process** For this section, a separate thread of 1.75mm filament is used as a hinge pin: - Melt the exposed end using a lighter (caution advised) to achieve slight flex. - Utilize a moistened finger to firmly press down the now heated filament; this will create a bulge that holds in place securely, preventing unnecessary shifting. Repeat for optimal effect. **Final Touches & Finishing Details** - **Fillet Sanding**: Initially printed clips can prove tight and may require minimal sanding (a few seconds) to ease operation, thus facilitating a tighter fit that you'll prefer; conversely, simply reduce the clip tension if needed. Feel free to style them as desired! I applied vibrant color combinations achieved using airbrushed Acrylic paints for the boxes. I employed blaster burn textures by gently dry brushing silver across rebel logos. Alternatively, for the Rebel side's characteristic weathered red coloration, I brush-painted in that precise shade before layering over with flat gunmetal shades for an overall aesthetic.
