Want a unique way to showcase your X-Wing or Attack Wing miniatures when they're not in action on the tabletop? Consider having your X-Wings fly reconnaissance missions around your kitchen's refrigerator or launch strike operations around your office whiteboard with these magnetic display stands. To create this model, you'll need: CA glue (Superglue) 6mm x 2mm neodymium magnets (available on Amazon at http://a.co/8LrogQc) PVA glue (Elmer's Glue-All) Simply use CA glue to attach the magnets to the holes in the base, then arrange the pegs as needed. If you're printing with PLA, the joints may loosen over time. This shouldn't be a problem if your display is stationary, like on a whiteboard. However, if it's subject to frequent movement, such as on a refrigerator door, coat the joints with white glue before assembling them. The glue should hold the miniature firmly in place. To rearrange the pose, simply twist the peg and re-glue it in the desired position. I'm researching alternative joint designs that are more suitable for PLA and don't rely heavily on material pressure to stay together. I also plan to develop different adaptors to enhance this display method.
