X vRail Mount Electronics Enclosure
thingiverse
I needed better lighting for my prints, so I installed LEDs on my x-axis vrail with a mountable electronics case at the end of the axis itself. https://youtu.be/--vOx3YSiek Sorry for the video quality and cable management quality, haha. It slides right on with no issue; I simply plug it directly into my PSU. You have your choice of two knobs. My Instructable is still in progress, so be patient while waiting for the how-to guide. However, since this is just the case, custom electronics can be built for it! The vrail slice I included is only for sizing reasons; it's not used in this build. To create this project, I used the following components: 6 - White Flattop LEDs (Straw Hat works too, but different forward voltage) 2 - 42 ohm resistors (Note: This may be different for your LEDs. Use a multimeter to check!) 1 - 10k Potentiometer (Longer neck; these are called Type B) 1 - 12v circular switch (Search for 12v Car Boat Dash Switch) 2 - Terminal Connectors 2 - 2 pin Molex connectors (Optional) 1 - Piece of cardboard (Optional)
