X Tensioner For Geared Idler Tronxy P802
thingiverse
This is a redo of my original x-tensioner, allowing me to replace the idler bearing with a geared bearing and reduce belt vibration. The same 5mm hardware that came with my printer is used here. This design is made for a GT2 20 teeth idler pulley with a 5mm bore. Don't buy from BIQU - they were horrible! Update - 7/22/18 After using geared idlers, I'm convinced they make no difference in print quality on an I3 style printer. They neither harm nor help the process. What's essential is getting something with decent bearings and no wobble. I also have a corexy with four times as many idler pulleys, where I've tried both geared and smooth idlers. My conclusion is that smooth idlers result in noticeably less belt vibration and smoother prints. Geared idlers simply didn't mesh well with the belts, so maybe smooth idlers are the way to go. If you're looking for really decent idlers, check out WINSINN on Amazon. I bought 10 idlers from them, and every single one was perfect!
