Rather than employing ice cream sticks, I produced personalized stoppers. These are adaptable for both left and right usage and have been verified on a Generation 9 MakerBot. Interestingly, the stoppers don't activate unless a strip of aluminum foil is placed on the ends; consequently, I adhered the foil down.
