X Spin Puzzle - Print in place with dissolvable support
thingiverse
Some folks have cracked it in under 30 seconds, but others have spent hours or even days trying to get it right. It's a real puzzler when you hold it in your hands and turn it over, but don't worry, no secrets will be revealed. Just set it down on the table, spin it around, and watch as the top half effortlessly lifts off. It's one of those moments that makes you go "aha!". You'll need to print two separate parts to put together a complete puzzle. And here's the thing: this part is tough to print because it requires special support material that can dissolve in water, like PVA. But don't worry, there are holes at each end where you can flush out any excess material with some water. If you're finding it too tricky to print, we've got a simpler version that still needs assembly, but might be easier on your printer. Just keep in mind that the original file was missing some critical pins, so make sure you get the revised .stl file to include them. I remember seeing a wooden version of this design years ago, but I don't know who to give credit to for coming up with it. Maybe it's one of those designs that's been around forever! We've got an update on October 20th, 2019: we revised the .stl file to include those all-important pins, so make sure you grab the latest version!
