Watch the build video here: https://youtu.be/-DZQGRVDaHU

I had the idea of converting this blaster to use angled Talon mags. Figured I could make an adapter, a brass pusher and a brass barrel pretty easily.
The adapter took the most energy. It's still not perfect, but it holds the angled mags in the right place. Used a pair of M3-.50x12 machine screws and M3-.50 nuts to assemble the adapter. It's not terribly complicated. I might pretty it up and make it a bit more polished later. I also created a muzzle device to house the brass barrel. I made a spring spacer, but I couldn't get the blaster to prime with it. Might need to look at that again later.
Originally, I used 1/2" brass for the pusher and 17/32" brass for the barrel. After testing with the stock spring, I noticed that darts were having trouble clearing the barrel. Figured that the stock internals didn't have enough "oomph" to overcome the friction of the dart in the brass barrel and get it moving. Changed the barrel to 9/16" brass and sleeved the pusher with a small length of 17/32" brass. Not as tight of a barrel fit, but more consistent shots. Perhaps once I perfect the spacer or get an upgraded spring, I might revisit the tighter brass. Since the brass pusher sleeve and printed muzzle are friction fit, I can change them out as needed.
Category: Mechanical Toys
