Well, now I've finally modded one. I was intrigued with all the shell detail, thinking it'd be fun to paint. Nearly 2 weeks later, I can say it was a lot of work to paint. Still a fun blaster. Took the opportunity to experiment with some new ideas. The external repaint took the bulk of the time. Between work and weather, I had short windows where I could paint, tolerate the heat and still have light to film. I'd estimate 30+ hours on the the painting alone. Internally, I removed the AR and beefed up the plunger seal. Couldn't find a suitable replacement spring, but I saw that the stock spring wasn't achieving full compression.

Designed this spring spacer in TinkerCAD and I think it helped. The blaster slam-fire only now, but I'm ok with that for this build. With all my tinkering, I saw a +8 boost to FPS.

Print Settings

Printer:

Prusa Mini

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

50%

Filament: Gizmo Dorks PLA Translucent Orange

Category: Mechanical Toys
