X-Men Cyclops Goggles

"Don't anyone budge!... I lost my contact lens." This is a Cyclops costume design by me for a themed party. It prints out neatly in four parts, which I created with my 'Up! Plus 2' 3D printer using a 0.2mm layer thickness setting. I added joints to the pieces so they're easy to assemble and will be very durable. You can see their dimensions in one of the pictures - if your head is smaller or larger just adjust the print size accordingly. I also added some foam to the earpieces (which fit over your ears like glasses) for a snug fit on my head. These goggles were designed to be worn by anyone, so you might need to make small adjustments to get the perfect fit. For the red visor I simply cut a piece from a translucent red folder and glued it in place, allowing you to see clearly while wearing them. Some red LED lights also add a great feature! To achieve a smooth finish I applied multiple coats of spray putty, sanded it down, and then sprayed on the final color. I hand-painted the black details in the recessed areas. Full details and photos showing how this was made can be found on my blog at https://edditiveblog.wordpress.com/category/costumes/
