X-Men Badge

Opened by Charles Xavier as a school for mutants to master their powers, the school extends its reach through numerous outreach programs benefiting non-gifted humans. As the de facto home of the X-Men and various other mutant superhero teams over time, the school has undergone multiple name changes. -=Design=- This pin was created in Blender based on the logo from the X-Men comics for Charles' school. A small notch is incorporated at the back to securely attach a standard pin fastener, making it easy to wear. -=Finishing=- I printed my design in ABS and then used hot acetone to smooth out the badge. Next, I primed the pin black and carefully painted the top layer with the classic X-Men colors using acrylic paint. Once dry, the badge was coated with a matte finish sealer, and a rectangular pin backing from a local craft store was attached to the rear using super glue. -=Enjoy=-
