X-MAX Sidecar System

X-MAX Sidecar System

This started as a way to hang my spatula on the side of the printer and grew into something larger. The X-Max Sidecar System features tongue and groove attachments to allow different options for use. The Main Block piece is designed to snugly fit into the handle openings on the side of the QIDI X-Max. It has a groove that allows any one of the other pieces to be slotted into it and will fit left or right handle opening (curved corner goes down). Attachments include (so far):

Two hook for hanging spatula or whatever
Rack to hold the common tools for print head and nozzle maintenance.
Square Cup for holding various items.
Blank tongue piece to allow for other users to add their own pieces.
UPDATE: Added Square Cup with groove on outside to enable one of the other pieces to be attached to it.
I try to design most pieces to not require supports but the hooks will require them. The other pieces should print without supports. All pieces should be printed with the tongue or groove vertical to avoid issues with fitment. A few piece specific notes: Main Block: No Supports. Install rounded corner down. Hooks: Supports on. Raft is recommended. Rack: No Supports. Raft is recommended. If openings for Allen wrenches are too tight, hollow out slightly with x-acto knife. I wanted them to fit snug. Square Cup(s): In order to print without supports, I designed this so that the side must be glued on. No Raft, No Supports. Tongue Blank: Design your own piece! Post it as a remix, I'd love to see your ideas! No Supports. Raft is recommended. This is a work in progress and may change as I tweak and expand the system,
