X-Lite Pro back cover with magnet holder
thingiverse
This is a back cover for the X-Lite Pro, featuring a built-in holder for a magnet that enables another magnet to attach securely to it. Designed using Fusion 360, this cover boasts the same slide-on mechanism as the original, ensuring seamless attachment to the X-Lite Pro. As an RC pilot, I utilize magnetic switches to control my DLGs' receivers, turning them on and off with ease. The Taranis and X12S transmitters provided convenient screw-based storage for my magnet, but unfortunately, the X-Lite Pro lacks exposed metal parts suitable for magnet attachment. To address this issue, I created an external module cover that integrates a built-in magnet to store the secondary magnet. To assemble this design, you'll need a 6 mm x 3 mm cylinder magnet. While this creation may also suit the X-Lite and X-Lite S transmitters, it's essential to note that these models haven't been tested by me. With a basic design in place that accommodates the slide-on mechanism, I plan to develop more covers incorporating additional features like wind streamers. When printing this cover, be cautious of printer tolerances – if the print doesn't fit smoothly with slight pressure, avoid forcing it to prevent damaging the small tabs on the X-Lite transmitter. To ensure successful printing, use a 0.1 mm resolution and 0.2 mm support z height. A revised version of this design (V3) has been implemented, featuring thinner skin between the magnet and outer surface for enhanced magnetic pull and camfered holes around the magnet for easier insertion. 2019-05-27 V3 – Thinner skin between magnet and outside surface for stronger magnetic pull; Camfer around hole for magnet to simplify sliding in.
